Sirin Hamsho

Sirin Hamsho is the first lady in the Islamic world to have the courage and the confidence to record her recitation of the Holy Quran with her special voice. Born to a scholarly Syrian family, Sirin had the chance to appreciate Islam as a way of life. When she was ten years old, she memorized the Holy Quran by heart. She was granted a Diploma Degree in Islamic Studies at Al-Andaluse Islamic studies Institute (The biggest institute in Syria for teaching Islamic sciences for women, with about 3000 female students every year; established by Dr. Rufaida Al-Habash, Sirin’s mother). Besides, she is an Islamic lecturer and trainer working actively in Syria as well as in France.

As a young preacher, Sirin believes that Religious Revival springs from the youth. She has worked on many individual projects which aim at empowering women in society and training a new generation of Muslim youth leaders. During her academic life, she has been working with non-governmental and governmental organizations and has established number of clubs to serve her community and to coexist with the “Other”.

Answering God’s call, Sirin has returned to complete her studies of Islamic Law at Damascus University after she has graduated as a communication Engineer from the University of Kalamoon (the first private university in Syria to teach in English language).

Sirin has her own TV show program, Sagacity of the Prophet’s life, on Iqraa Channel (a famous Islamic Channel in the Middle East). Presently, she is preparing for her next TV Show.

Sirin got married in 2009. She is living with her husband, Omar, in Paris where she is preparing to pursue Master studies in “Islam and the West”.
