Najeeba Syeed-Miller is an Assistant Professor of Interreligious Education at Claremont School of Theology. She is an expert in conflict resolution and multifaith problemsolving. She advises UCLA, Pepperdine, the Mayor’s Office of City of Los Angeles in this area and works with the Board of Rabbis and many local and national Christian groups as well.
From 2004-2008 She served as executive director of the Western Justice Center and from 2001-2003 she was executive director of the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center. Both organizations are national leaders in conflict resolution education for children and mediation of violent conflicts.
Professor Syeed-Miller has twice recieved the Jon Anson Ford Award for reducing violence in schools and was named the Southern California Mediation Association Peacemaker of the Year. She developed a national campaign to teach children violence prevention partnering with major entertainment companies.
Ms. Syeed-Miller is an internationally sought after speaker in conflict resolution and has traveled to Guam, Italy, India and many other locales. She has chaired three national conferences on Muslim peacebuilding and trained Muslim leaders to resolve family and multifaith conflicts.
She is a graduate of the Maurer School of Law-Indiana University. A lifelong Lakers fan, she is most proud of being a wife and mother of a two year old daughter and four year old son with her husband of 12 years.
